    Job Responsibilities:

    Responsible for ensuring all welding on both new and existing programs is compliant with customer weld specifications as noted on customer prints and / or Target agreements and is required to alert leadership of all non-conformances.

    Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies. Understand and promote Magna's philosophies (Magna Operational Principles, Corporate Constitution and Employee's Charter).Communicate and make presentations related to welding in front of the customerAssume full ownership for all welding processes including, but not limited to:

    Quality concerns driven to successful resolution in a timely manner

    Lessons learned are cascaded across all similar processes

    Process optimization to drive continuous improvement

    Upkeep of weld documentation data base and weld maps

    Evaluate weld documentation to ensure compliance with all customer specifications .

    SKILL (Ability to do the job)

    -Ability to work in a team environment

    -Must have good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills (verbal and written)

    -Capable of developing good working relationships with customers

    -Must be willing to work extended or flexible hours as required (including shift change to support business needs)

    -Able to work under variable workload and stress

    -Must be willing to travel & have a valid passport (or ability to get a passport)

    -Must have practical experience in costing and quoting

    -Ability to offer alternatives to existing designs resulting in improved means of manufacturing

    Some of the physical demands for this position include the ability to lift 40 pounds, the ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time, and occasional bending and stooping.

    EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED

    Some of the equipment and tools used are a computer, telephone, copier/printer, fax machine,

    all standard weld lab test equipment, teach pendant, force gauge, weld analyzer, and other related test equipment

    KNOWLEDGE

    EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Weld Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience

    TECHNICAL TRAINING: Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance, CAD and CAD Viewer programs; Bosch Resistance Welding Controls, Lincoln i400 Power Source, Fronius Power Source, Thorough knowledge of GMAW, FCAW, RSW.

    OTHER: Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Bosch BOS, weld controller software and data collection

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    Weld Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
