Location: Webster, NY
Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Summary:  Nesco Resource is seeking skilled and dependable Structural Steel MIG Welders to join our client's manufacturing team in Webster, NY. This direct hire opportunity offers the chance to work in a fast-paced fabrication environment producing high-quality structural steel components. The ideal candidate will have MIG welding experience, the ability to interpret blueprints, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and craftsmanship.

Pay:

  • $22.00 - $27.00/Hour (Based On Experience)

Schedule:

  • A shift - 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM (Monday - Friday)
  • B shift - 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (Monday - Friday)
    • OT Required, As Needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG welding on structural steel components in accordance with AWS D1.1 welding standards.
  • Prepare materials for fabrication by cutting, grinding, cleaning, fitting, and positioning metal components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and fabrication specifications.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with production standards.
  • Verify measurements, angles, and weld gaps using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Operate semi-automatic welding equipment and other fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
  • Grind, repair, and finish welds as needed to meet quality requirements.
  • Operate overhead cranes to safely transport steel materials and completed assemblies throughout the facility.
  • Complete production records and maintain accurate job documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional fabrication and production duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of MIG welding and metal fabrication experience.
  • Experience welding structural steel preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Welding certification provided by the client.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
  • Basic computer proficiency and mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong math skills, including fractions, decimals, and accurate tape measure reading.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequently bend, twist, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull while performing fabrication tasks.
  • Ability to safely wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmet, gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, flame-resistant clothing, and steel-toed boots.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment where temperatures may fluctuate with outdoor conditions.
  • Exposure to welding fumes and fabrication equipment in a facility equipped with ventilation systems that meet OSHA standards.
