Position Description
As a welder in our organization, you will work under the general supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to fabricate, install, maintain, and repair various structures, ensuring their efficient operation and adherence to quality standards. You will be expected to possess comprehensive knowledge of different welding equipment and techniques, enabling you to effectively carry out your duties. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting quality checks on completed projects to ensure their compliance with specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Execute particular welds in a professional manner, examine work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
Repair metal components in order to restore full functionality and safety performance.
Constructs new installations; extend or repair existing installations; collaborates with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters when installing structures.
Inspects all aspects of job sites for safety, compliance and conforming to Precinct 2, Local, County, State and Federal specifications/requirements.
Inspect any and all structures for any potential problems.
Communicates with supervisor daily.
Coordinate workflow with other members of the team and third-party agents.
Receives and documents daily work assignments; analyze blueprints and designs, troubleshoots and resolves issues to ensure completion of daily activities, estimates for materials and equipment.
Ensures operation by tracking preventative maintenance requirements, calling for repairs, assisting with maintaining equipment supplies and material inventories.
Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by management or as necessary by the evolving needs of the organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good understanding of blueprints and designs, inspecting welds for structural integrity, calibrate and maintain all welding tools and equipment.
Skilled in the care and use of hand tools, power equipment used in welding/fabrication trades and display mechanical aptitude.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in a thorough and timely manner.
Proficient working knowledge of computers, office equipment and related software comprised of Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be able to become proficient in asset management & work management systems to open and update work tasks.
Ability to work well with all levels of management, staff, as well as a diverse group of constituents.
Must exhibit polite and professional communications via phone, in person and email.
Self-starter possessing good interpersonal skills and be a productive team member with an outstanding attention to detail.

Hours:
This is a full-time position.
Days and hours are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Hours may vary based on business needs of the department and some weekends, evening hours or holidays may be required.
Rotating weekly on-call schedule.
Location:
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
