Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality Flux Core (FCAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on structural steel, pressure vessels, piping, and fabricated components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols.
• Prepare materials for welding by grinding, fitting, and cleaning surfaces.
• Inspect completed welds for quality and compliance with specifications.
• Operate welding machines, grinders, and other fabrication tools safely.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous welding experience required.
• Flux Core (FCAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding experience required.
• TIG (GTAW) and Submerged Arc (Sub Arc/SAW) experience is a plus.
• Must be able to read a tape measure and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Experience in structural steel, pressure vessel, or heavy industrial fabrication preferred.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

Weld Test Requirements

• Must successfully pass a hands-on weld test before starting work.
• Candidates who pass the weld test will be paid for the test.
• Candidates who do not pass the weld test will not be paid.

Required Tools

• Personal welding hood
• Welding sleeves
• Grinder
• Appropriate welding clothing and work boots

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and work for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be physically capable of working in a hot fabrication shop environment.
• Ability to perform repetitive welding tasks throughout the shift.
