Penmac Staffing is hiring a Stainless Steel Welder/Fabricator for a local manufacturing client in Springfield, MO. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for an experienced welder and fabricator who takes pride in producing high-quality work in a safe and team-oriented environment.Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of fabrication experience preferred
- MIG and TIG welding experience required (approximately 60% MIG / 40% TIG)
- Ability to weld stainless steel in 1G through 6G positions
- Must be able to pass an ASME/PED weld test
- Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and tape measures
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills
- Experience using hand tools, fabrication equipment, and precision measuring devices
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work in confined spaces and varying temperature conditions
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma practices is a plus
Responsibilities
- Fit, tack, and weld stainless steel components according to drawings and specifications
- Perform GTAW/TIG welding in all positions while maintaining clean, consistent weld quality
- Set up welding equipment and determine proper layouts and assembly methods
- Grind, polish, and finish weld joints to meet quality standards
- Inspect welds and dimensions using precision measuring tools
- Perform liquid penetrant testing (NDT) on interior welds as required
- Fabricate stainless steel equipment through cutting, bending, grinding, polishing, and assembly processes
- Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and complete other assigned duties as needed
Schedule and Pay
- Full-time
- 1st and 2nd shift opportunities available
- Starting pay: $18.00- $22.00/hour, depending on experience
