Welder / Fabricator / Steel Erector
Location: Portland, OR
Pay: $25 $36/hr DOE
Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Welder / Fabricator / Installer / Erector to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who can take a project from fabrication in the shop through installation and erection in the field.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding depending on project requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, measurements, and welding symbols.
- Fabricate structural and miscellaneous metal components from raw materials.
- Perform layout, measuring, cutting, drilling, grinding, and fit-up.
- Assemble and install fabricated steel and metal components at jobsites.
- Erect structural steel, railings, stairs, platforms, frames, and other fabricated components.
- Use hand and power tools, torches, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment.
- Perform field welding, modifications, repairs, and adjustments during installation.
- Safely rig, position, and move materials and fabricated components.
- Ensure finished work meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop and jobsite.
- Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous welding and metal fabrication experience.
- Experience with fit-up, layout, cutting, grinding, and material preparation.
- Ability to read blueprints and accurately take measurements.
- Ability to produce quality welds in both shop and field environments.
- Comfortable working at heights and performing physical installation and erection work.
- Ability to safely operate common fabrication tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Welding certifications are a plus but not required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded welder/fabricator who can work both in the shop and in the field. Experience installing and erecting fabricated components, structural steel, railings, stairs, platforms, or other metalwork is highly valued.
Pay: $25 $36/hr depending on experience and skill level.
