BlueWave is hiring a Welder & Fabrication Technician for an aerospace organization based in Long Beach, California. As a Welder & Fabrication Technician, you will produce tooling and fabricated components, inspect completed work, and collaborate with engineering personnel to resolve fabrication challenges. This second-shift role requires an experienced welder who can become productive quickly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform flux-core arc welding on steel up to one inch thick.
- Fabricate tooling hardware and production components.
- Set up and operate welding and metal-fabrication equipment.
- Fit, form, clean, and prepare parts for welding and assembly.
- Inspect fabricated components for quality and weld conformance.
- Diagnose weld defects and recommend corrective actions.
- Handle raw materials, components, and completed weldments.
- Operate vertical bandsaws, sanding equipment, and jig tables.
- Collaborate with engineering personnel to improve tooling and resolve production issues.
- Maintain quality and safety while meeting production requirements.
Requirements
- Strong flux-core arc welding experience.
- Ability to weld steel up to one inch thick.
- Hands-on metal fabrication experience.
- Experience inspecting welds and verifying conformance.
- Ability to fit, form, clean, and prepare fabricated parts.
- Experience setting up welding equipment.
- Ability to identify weld defects and determine corrective actions.
- Experience operating metal-fabrication equipment.
- Experience with vertical bandsaws, sanding equipment, and jig-table setups.
- Ability to complete an onsite welding assessment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal ramp-up.
- Availability for overtime or weekend work based on production needs.
Employment Type: Short-term contract, fully onsite in Long Beach, California; second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
