Kimco Staffing is seeking experienced Welders / Fabrication Technicians to support a short-term manufacturing surge. Operate fabrication equipment (vertical band saws, grinders/sanders); maintain safe, clean workspace.

Welder and Fabrication Technician (1st Shift)

Project Length:  3-month project (contract)
Pay:  $40.00/hr (DOE)
Schedule:  5:00 AM to 2:30 PM (Mon to Fri and OT)
Location:  Long Beach, CA 

Position Summary
Kimco Staffing is seeking experienced Welders / Fabrication Technicians to support a short-term manufacturing surge. Candidates should be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with Engineering to build and improve tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld tooling and steel components (Flux Core/FCAW)
• Fit, prep, and clean materials prior to welding; set up welding equipment and jig tables
• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and weld quality; identify defects and perform repairs
• Support process improvements and troubleshoot tooling/design issues with Engineering
• Operate fabrication equipment (vertical band saws, grinders/sanders); maintain safe, clean workspace

Qualifications

• 3+ years welding/metal fabrication experience
• Strong Flux Core (FCAW) on steel experience
• Blueprint/fabrication drawing interpretation
• Experience with tooling/fixture fabrication preferred
• Quality inspection capability; mechanical aptitude; ability to meet aggressive schedules
