REQUIREMENTS: Weld Quality Technician- multiple shifts 

• US Citizenship
• High School Diploma  
• Active Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification 
• Minimum of five (5) years of direct Non-Destructive Testing (VT) experience.
• Proven ability to interpret code standards and contractual documents governing VT methods.
• Experience preparing and verifying the technical adequacy of work instructions and procedures.
• Strong technical writing skills for documenting inspection procedures and reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to support "Boots on the Ground" operations in York, PA, including lifting up to 40 lbs., climbing, bending, and standing for up to 12 hours per day.

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Weld Quality Technician- multiple shifts Our client is seeking a Weld Quality Technician with an active Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification. This role serves as the primary technical lead for Visual Testing (VT) operations, responsible for the practical application of VT procedures and techniques. The Weld Quality Technician provides critical oversight and technical guidance to bargaining unit VT Level II personnel to ensure welding and VT inspection processes meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. This position balances rigorous technical inspection with the operational need to maintain production rates and efficiency.

1. Technical Leadership & Personnel Oversight

• Bargaining Unit Guidance: Provide direct technical oversight and mentorship to bargaining unit VT Level II personnel, ensuring consistent interpretation of weld quality across all product lines.  Training & Certification: Lead the training, examination, and certification efforts for inspection personnel to ensure the workforce remains compliant with the company’s written program. 
• Performance Auditing: Conduct internal audits of VT Level II personnel to verify that the requirements of the written practice are being strictly adhered to.
• Technical Support: Act as the first point of escalation for the interpretation of VT indications, providing analysis for engineering disposition.

2. Operational Quality Assurance

• Procedure Implementation: Execute and oversee the application of VT procedures and techniques, ensuring all inspections are documented in strict conformance with industry and customer requirements.
• Process Optimization: Collaborate with production support teams to improve "hold point" processes and inspection workflows to reduce bottlenecks and improve throughput.
• Compliance Management: Ensure all equipment and inspections conform to standards by accurately interpreting drawings, blueprints, and applicable specifications.
• Documentation: Maintain meticulous product quality records and approve technique sheets as required.

3. Cross-Functional Problem Solving

• Collaborative Resolution: Partner with interdepartmental customers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, departments to solve complex quality issues.
• Root Cause Analysis: Utilize RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) tools to investigate quality failures and implement sustainable process improvements.
• Management Liaison: Serve as an active member of quality management teams, keeping leadership informed of significant quality trends or production risks.
