    Welcome Team Coordinators are a mature and dedicated group of student leaders who will help with the logistics and behind the scenes for the summer, fall, and spring New Sycamore Orientation programs. Welcome Team Coordinators will be training and supervising a cohort of Welcome Team Student and Family Orientation Leaders for New Sycamore Orientation. This includes managing the team during New Sycamore Orientation program days, making preparations for orientation days in the office, and working with professional staff to ensure smooth programming. Successful candidates will acquire experience in supervising peers, program development, administrative logistics, and implementation of supervisors' goals. Coordinators will develop competencies in leadership, time management, interpersonal relationships, campus-wide collaboration, effective communication, multicultural understanding, self-awareness, group dynamics, and event administration and logistics.

    Specific Responsibilities Work Schedule

    Will vary depending on the time of year. Weekends and evenings will be required during programming.

    Job Duties

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Serve as a member of the senior staff in the coordination and implementation of one-day orientation programs in May, June, July, and August.
    • Assist with Spring Orientations during the months of November, December, and January.
    • Manage, develop, and facilitate Welcome Team training schedules and staff development with professional staff members and graduate assistants.
    • Supervise and orchestrate office work including; presentation preparations, registered students' folders, Orientation Leader introduction calls, and other necessary office work to ensure successful orientation programming.
    • Coordinate and supervise Welcome Team during New Sycamore Orientation and New Sycamore Welcome (May - August).
    • Delegate tasks to fellow coordinator(s) and Welcome Team Leaders to manage logistics of the orientation program and Welcome Team training events.
    • Practice using levels-headedness and managing emotion and attitude to professionally supervise Welcome Team Leaders.
    • Manage dynamic organizational communication through various mediums.
    • Participate in retreats with all New Student Programs staff.
    • Participate in the recruitment, interview, and selection process of all Welcome Team members.
    • Assist with New Sycamore Welcome programs.
    • Serve as a positive role model for the Welcome Team and incoming students and families.
    • Uphold and adhere to all policies set by the University and the New Student Programs Office.
