Heinzerling Community is currently seeking a part‑time, every‑other‑weekend and holiday Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our organization, you will greet visitors, operate a multiline telephone system to answer incoming calls, and direct callers to the appropriate personnel by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities
Welcomes visitors, determines the nature of their business, and announces them to the appropriate personnel
Answers and determines the purpose of incoming telephone calls; screens and forwards calls in a polite and friendly manner
Receives and delivers messages or transfers calls to voicemail when appropriate personnel are unavailable
Answers questions about the organization and provides callers with the address, directions, and general information
Monitors visitor access and issues visitor badges when required
Issues temporary badges to employees
Follows established receptionist procedures in case of fire, severe weather, or other emergencies
Assists with special projects upon request
Participates in initial, required, and ongoing staff development trainings and in‑services
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent attendance, customer service, and interpersonal skills
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to speak and act with a friendly, patient, and pleasant demeanor
Ability to speak clearly and distinctly (for answering the phone and paging over the intercom)
Basic computer skills; familiarity with email, Word, and Excel is helpful
