EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology related field from an accredited four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience

One year related experience and/or training

High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.

PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY:

Designs, develops, implements and supports Web Applications on a District-wide level. Performs duties as a Web Applications Developer and a Design Specialist. Responsible for a multi-faceted integrated database and Web Applications.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develops policies and procedures for Web Based Applications.

2. Identifies resources needed to aid in the design and development of Web enabled applications.

3. Researches opportunities to publish and expand Web applications.

4. Identifies training requirements for other Web Developers and/or Web Designers.

5. Diagnoses and repairs bugs and problems with Web-based and Windows Applications.

6. Develops, codes, installs, tests, debugs and documents Web-based and Windows-based Applications using development tools such as Visual Studio.

7. Designs and develops Web-based applications primarily with C# and Javascript in a Microsoft.Net environment using Blazor/Razor or similar framework .

8. Sets up, configures and secures Web sites and Web Applications.

9. Sets up and implements Web-based SSL security on Web sites, directories and pages.

10. Generates and monitors statistical reports.

11. Works with clients to identify the wants/requirements of projects.

12. Develops web page infrastructure and applications.

13. Develops and maintains documentation.

14. Assures web server and site technical performance.

15. Develops, assesses and communicates Web Applications usage and security policies and standards.

16. Assists in the planning of overall District strategy regarding web development.

17. Designs and develops reports, queries and stored procedures.

18. Schedules activities effectively and secures resources needed to accomplish goals.

19. Maintains contact with current research and practice.

20. Works with management in disseminating ideas and information to other professionals.

21. Maintains confidentiality of information.

22. Reports to work on time every day.

23. Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
