The Tennessee Department of Children's Services (DCS) is seeking a dedicated professional to help us ensure our digital content meets federally mandated accessibility standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact by improving the accessibility of our website and digital content, ensuring inclusivity for all users.

Position Overview

As a key member of our team, you will conduct thorough audits of our digital assets, identify accessibility issues, and develop effective remediation strategies. You'll collaborate closely with developers, designers, and other stakeholders to integrate accessibility into our workflows and provide training to staff on best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive audits of the DCS website and digital content.
• Document accessibility issues and recommend standards-based solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate accessibility into design and publishing processes.
• Train DCS staff on accessibility best practices to support long-term compliance.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and ARIA roles.
• Experience in web development, digital content remediation, or user experience design.
• Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferences

• Experience with accessibility testing tools such as WAVE or Siteimprove.
• Experience with screen readers such as NVDA.
