Job Summary The instructor shall work under the supervision of the Trinity Alps Unified School District Administration and in accordance with the school and district policies. The Special Education teacher shall be responsible to provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in general education and specialized settings.

The instructor shall employ individualized instructional strategies and techniques, modify academic content as necessary to meet students varying needs and interests. Teach pro-social behavior as determined by the students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and design/monitor behavioral objectives in an overall positive behavioral support system.

  • Knowledge of teaching methods and instructional strategies appropriate to a variety of disabilities.
  • Confer with parents, administrators, program specialists, social workers, and other professionals to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) designed to access the general curriculum to the degree possible and facilitate adapted curriculum as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Required Credentials: Valid Credential - Special Education Credential (Moderate/Severe).
  • Preferred: Special Education, Severely Handicapped, Adaptive PE, and CLAD certificate.
  • Must be NCLB compliant at the time of hire.
  • BTSA covered by District.

Upon Offer of Employment, the following will be required:

  • DOJ/FBI fingerprints clearance
  • Drug test
  • Physical and TB clearance
