JOB SUMMARY: Crew member, assist crew leader in the performance of all assigned duties. This is a temporary position based in Brevig Mission, AK.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Helps remove, install, and replace various residential building materials as directed including doors, windows, insulation, flooring, skirting, vents, caulking, weatherproofing and roofing.
Utilizes appropriate construction skills and techniques to install building materials.
Assists homeowners with installation of materials for self-help homes.
WORK ACTIVITIES:
Loads and unloads barges, aircraft, trucks, container vans as required.
Delivers materials from staging area to individual houses.
Maintains and secures all tools and equipment provided by RurAL CAP.
Performs other duties as assigned

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or hours vary with location. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS AND REQUIRED EDUCATION:
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
One-year general construction, or one-year carpentry apprenticeship
Knowledge of and demonstrated safe use of all necessary tools.
