Description

6 month trade support / middle office support role in NYC

W2 Only (not open to subcontracting)


Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams to open and maintain accounts for clients, including gathering documents, verifying key information, and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions of securities and cash transfers by working with partners and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Provide operational support for structuring, booking, allocation, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation of various financial products including FX and Derivatives.
  • Process and monitor daily transactions such as reporting, trade feeds, wire transfers, and securities transfers to ensure the business runs effectively.
  • Communicate with business partners and clients professionally to troubleshoot and resolve exceptions and inquiries.
  • Foster a collaborative culture with internal partners to identify customer needs and ensure high-level service delivery.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement to enhance service, efficiency, and productivity while maintaining a controlled environment.
  • Support internal and external audits and risk assessments, ensuring adherence to department procedures and controls.
  • Stay informed about industry regulatory requirements and manage risks and controls to support efficient business operations.
  • Support technology and non-technology changes by participating in idea generation, specification gathering, testing, and ensuring effective delivery.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of account opening processes and regulations for bank and brokerage accounts.
  • Understanding of Cash, Securities, FX, and Derivative products and related financial market processes.
  • Familiarity with trade processing, regulatory reporting, trade booking, settlement, custody, and reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of various risks including market, operational, legal, and regulatory.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment while maintaining high client service standards.
  • Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement activities within the department.
  • Knowledge of industry systems such as DTCC, Euroclear, Fedwire, FICC, SWIFT, Bloomberg, NetX360.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of operational support experience in financial services, preferably with a broker-dealer, bank, or investment advisor.
  • Experience with client account opening and regulations.
  • Experience with Cash, Securities, FX, and Derivative products and markets.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting, such as Client TRACE.
  • Experience in engaging with internal and external clients, such as Trading Desks and Wealth Management Advisors.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in economics, business, mathematics, or related field preferred.
