Waterjet Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Waterjet Operator to operate waterjet cutting equipment used to cut metal and other materials according to production specifications. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing or machine operation experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Operate waterjet cutting equipment to produce parts according to specifications.

  • Set up and load materials onto the waterjet table.

  • Review work orders, blueprints, drawings, and cutting instructions.

  • Select and verify appropriate cutting programs and machine settings.

  • Monitor the cutting process and make adjustments as needed.

  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy, dimensions, and overall quality.

  • Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and gauges.

  • Identify defects, incorrect cuts, or material issues and report them to the appropriate supervisor.

  • Remove and properly identify completed parts.

  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.

  • Perform basic machine cleaning and routine maintenance.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Follow all safety procedures and required PPE requirements.

  • Assist with material handling and other production duties as needed.

  • Meet daily production and quality goals.

Qualifications

  • Previous waterjet, CNC, machine operator, or metal fabrication experience preferred.

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and mechanical drawings.

  • Ability to use measuring instruments including calipers, tape measures, and gauges.

  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn machine-control software.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality.

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic machine or production issues.

  • Ability to use hand tools and production equipment.

  • Good communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Reliable attendance and transportation.

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and moving materials.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work around water, metal materials, machinery, and production equipment.

  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
