Description/Job Summary Lindahl Reed is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Waterfront Construction Inspector to support the federal waterfront improvement project at Pier Mike in North Charleston, South Carolina. This position provides on-site construction inspection, quality assurance, and oversight services for a complex federal waterfront construction project encompassing waterfront concrete construction, underground utilities, stormwater improvements, and design-build delivery. The Construction Inspector will work closely with the government Contracting Officer Representative (COR), the design-build contractor, and the Lindahl Reed project management team to ensure all work is executed in strict conformance with contract requirements, approved design documents, applicable codes, and federal standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced construction professional with a strong background in federal waterfront projects and a proven ability to independently identify and resolve field construction issues. Physical requirements: The construction inspector shall be able to see, hear, walk, drive, climb, reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. The CI must be willing to encounter all conditions that will be present on a construction site which may include noise, dust, heights, odors, and enclosed spaces, and must be physically able to traverse the construction site, which may include unstable footing, steps, rough terrain, adverse weather conditions, ladders, roof and other conditions that challenge mobility. The CI must have physical abilities to take measurements and perform tests that compare in-place work to contract requirements and must be able to observe the work as it progresses.
