Carroll Water is a family-owned and operated company with more than 40 years of experience providing water well and water treatment solutions. We are looking for a dependable and experienced Water Treatment Technician to join our growing team.
This position is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial water treatment systems while providing professional, high-quality customer service.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, repair, and maintain residential and commercial water treatment systems.
- Work with a variety of water treatment equipment, including:
- Water softeners
- Acid neutralizers
- Reverse osmosis (RO) systems
- Filtration systems
- Chemical feed systems
- UV systems
- Other related water treatment equipment
- Identify system issues and determine appropriate repair or service solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance and replace filters, media, components, and other equipment as needed.
- Test and evaluate water treatment systems and water quality.
- Explain system operation, service recommendations, and maintenance needs to customers in a clear and professional manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service and represent Carroll Water positively at every jobsite.
- Accurately document service calls, work performed, equipment installed, customer interactions, and system performance using company technology.
- Maintain accurate inventory of tools, parts, and materials needed to complete service calls.
- Load, transport, and safely handle tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe vehicle and work area.
- Assist with training and mentoring apprentices and helpers as assigned.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Participate in weekend or on-call rotations as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, plumbing, and water treatment-related systems.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other job-related equipment.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and management.
- Willingness to participate in weekend or on-call rotations as needed.
- Ability to travel to customer locations throughout the service area.
Preferred:
- Previous experience with water treatment systems.
- Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or other skilled-trade experience.
- Experience troubleshooting pumps, pressure tanks, filtration systems, or related equipment.
- Experience using ServiceTitan or another field service management/CRM system.
- Previous experience training or mentoring apprentices or helpers.
Driving & Motor Vehicle Requirements
Driving is an essential part of this position. Employment is contingent upon:
- Maintaining a valid driver's license.
- Meeting Carroll Water's motor vehicle record (MVR) requirements.
- Remaining insurable under the Company's vehicle insurance policy.
Failure to meet or maintain these requirements may result in removal from driving duties or termination of employment, where permitted by applicable law.
Physical Requirements
This is an active, field-based position. Candidates must be able to:
- Regularly lift, carry, and move tools, equipment, parts, and materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Use hands and arms repetitively to operate tools and equipment.
- Work in confined or limited-access spaces when necessary.
- Work on uneven terrain and at residential, commercial, and construction-related jobsites.
- Safely enter and exit company vehicles and equipment.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
- Safely perform installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.

Work Environment
This is primarily a field-based position. Work will be performed at residential, commercial, and other customer locations.
The position may involve exposure to:

- Construction-related conditions and hazards.
