A Water Transfer Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing mechanical problems, repairing and rebuilding equipment on or off site.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInspect and evaluate equipment and determine any defects in the equipmentMaintain transportation fleet in a manner that ensures the safety and protection of employees, customers and the publicRepair and replace damaged or worn partsPerform routine maintenance on equipment such as cleaning and lubricating equipmentMaintain routine equipment maintenance scheduleMake adjustments and repair equipment, ensuring operating efficiencyMaintain log book of all equipment repairs, services, adjustments and work performedMaintain a clean, safe work environment at all timesMaintain shop and field maintenance equipmentUnderstand and comply with company, customer, and health/safety policies, and any other regulations that are requiredReports any and all incidents immediatelyAble to work in all weather conditionsPerforms other duties as directed by managementRequire SkillsKnowledge of water transfer equipment preferredAbility to assess and troubleshoot equipment failureMust be able to work in fast-paced environmentMust possess organizational and problem-solving skillsMust be able to lift 70 lbs and handle physical demanding workMust be able to communicate using oral and basic written communicationMust pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol screening and participate in the random testing poolMust pass a background check and motor vehicle record checkArrange for reliable transportation to and from workQualificationsThe requirements listed in this job description are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required and must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this jobWork EnvironmentThis job primarily operates in an indoor work environment but may occasionally operate in an outside environment.
