This is your chance to join our team - help us to design the infrastructure and buildings that improve the world!WRA is seeking a Water Tank Engineer to join our Water & Wastewater Facilities Group in Baltimore, MD. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, inspection, and rehabilitation of water storage tanks and related infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, delivering high-quality engineering solutions, and ensuring projects meet client expectations, budget, and schedule.Key Responsibilities:Perform structural design and analysis of water storage tanks (elevated, ground, and standpipe types)Conduct site inspections, condition assessments, and prepare technical reportsPrepare design documents, specifications, cost estimates, and engineering calculationsDevelop rehabilitation strategies for existing tank infrastructure, including coatings, structural repairs, and upgradesCoordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal project teamsEnsure compliance with applicable standards (AWWA, OSHA, local/state building codes)Assist with permitting processes and construction administrationSupport business development efforts, including proposals and presentationsQualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited programProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license in Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months5-10 years of experience in water tank (or similar industrial structure) design, inspection, or rehabilitationProficiency in engineering software (e.g., RISA, AutoCAD, Civil 3D)Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and projects independentlyWillingness to travel for field work and site inspectionsPreferred Qualifications:NACE or SSPC coatings certification (or ability to obtain)Confined space and fall protection trainingExperience with drone or robotic inspection technologiesBenefits:WRA recognizes that employees play an important role in its success.
