Job Description

What You Will Do

Project Planning, Design & Implementation
  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of water and sewer infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct engineering analyses, studies, and system modeling to support project design.
  • Review plans and specifications and resolve design or construction issues.
Team Leadership & Coordination
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Serve as a technical resource for internal teams and project stakeholders.
Stakeholder, Regulatory & Community Engagement
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, regulators, and the public to ensure compliant project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate utility documentation, including GIS data and as-built records.
Operational Reliability & Safety
  • Support reliability efforts through occasional on-call or extended-hour response needs.
  • Promote safe, sustainable, and cost-effective engineering practices across all work activities.
Qualifications

What is Required
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive civil engineering experience within a utility, water/wastewater, or infrastructure environment.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification at hire; ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure when eligible, or within two years.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency with engineering software, modeling tools, and GIS/mapping systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
What is Preferred
  • Experience with utility design, construction oversight, or municipal engineering.
  • Familiarity with water/wastewater system modeling or surveying practices.
