    Description

    Role Description

    • The Water Resource Engineer will work full time in a hybrid capacity based in Timonium, MD, with flexibility for some work from home.
    • Day-to-day responsibilities include performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, supporting stormwater management design, and contributing to water quality improvement projects.
    • The role involves preparing technical reports, design plans, and calculations; coordinating with project managers and other engineers; and assisting with permitting and regulatory documentation.
    • The engineer will use modeling software and GIS tools to evaluate water resource systems, help develop practical solutions for flood control, stormwater infrastructure, and watershed planning, and participate in client meetings and field visits as needed.
    Qualifications
    • Demonstrated skills in water resource management and hydrology.
    • Experience with stormwater and stormwater management design and analysis.
    • Knowledge of water quality principles and related regulatory requirements.
    • Proficiency with relevant engineering software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, GIS/CAD tools).
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
    • Understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to water resources and stormwater.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or eligibility and intent to obtain, is preferred.
    • Experience with field investigations, data collection, and construction support is beneficial.
    • Preferred experience with Maryland State Highway Administration, Maryland Transportation Authority and/or Prince George's County
