Water and Sewer Auto Equipment Operator 1

Minimum Qualifications

Eighth grade. Six months of experience in the operation of medium-duty trucks such as dump trucks, flatbed trucks, single unit cargo trucks, tank trucks or similar equipment are required. Must possess a CDL/Class B.

Recruitment Notes

This position involves intermediate equipment operations, including the use of ride-on mowers, utility vehicles, small tractors, and light attachments. The growing number of landscaped areas, particularly in newly developed zones, necessitates dedicated equipment operators to meet service expectations and reduce the manual labor workload. Filling this position will enhance operational efficiency, minimize wear on shared equipment, and prevent delays caused by equipment availability and a shortage of qualified operators. This position aligns with the WAVE Strategic Plan's Exceptional Customer Experience goal by supporting the services provided to internal customers and external customers through work performed at pump stations, rights-of-way (ROWs), canal crossings, vacant properties, and other locations. Additionally, this classification supports the Efficient and Innovative Organization goal. Maintaining adequate staffing will enable the division to expand its operations, enhance service delivery, and elevate Grounds operations to a level not previously achieved by the County.
