Wastewater Operator

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking a Wastewater Operations Specialist for a direct hire opportunity! This position is responsible for operating and maintaining industrial wastewater treatment systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting customer operations. The Wastewater Operations Specialist will perform day-to-day wastewater treatment plant operations, monitor treatment processes, maintain documentation, troubleshoot equipment, and work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure compliance and reliable plant performance.

Schedule: Monday through Thursday 7:00am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities:

• Operate wastewater treatment systems within permit requirements

• Monitor and adjust treatment processes including pH, chemical feed, coagulation, flocculation, clarification, and biological treatment

• Operate and monitor equipment such as DAF systems, precipitation systems, and aeration systems

• Conduct routine inspections and identify operational improvements

• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues

• Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and logs

• Follow safety procedures, SDS requirements, and PPE guidelines

• Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding plant operations and compliance

• Utilize company software systems for reporting and documentation

• Support after-hours and weekend operational needs as required

Required:

• High school diploma or GED

• Experience in wastewater treatment, water treatment, environmental operations, or industrial plant operations

• Basic Microsoft Office skills

• Understanding of wastewater treatment processes and equipment

• Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements

• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred:

• Wastewater operator certification

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• Experience with industrial wastewater treatment systems

• Experience operating chemical feed and biological treatment processes

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 50 pounds

• Bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders as needed

• Walk throughout industrial facilities and treatment plants

• Work outdoors and in varying environmental conditions
