Description

This a PART-TIME position ONLY for Friday and Saturday to assist the dealership with event planning and Service support. Future opportunities and FULL-TIME may be available to the right candidate.

The Harley-Davidson Washbay Attendant / Porter is the guardian of our dealership’s first impression. In this role, you will ensure that every motorcycle—whether a brand-new CVO fresh out of the crate, a pre-owned trade-in, or a customer's bike out of service—looks pristine and showroom-ready. You will be responsible for meticulous detailing and the safe movement, staging, and organization of heavy motorcycles across the sales floor, service department, and lot.

Motorcycle Detailing & Presentation

  • Perform specialized wash and detail work on all styles of Harley-Davidson motorcycles (Touring, Cruisers, Trikes), paying meticulous attention to chrome polishing, aluminum care, denim/matte paint finishes, and leather seats.
  • De-crate and prep new arrivals, removing protective shipping materials and cleaning the bikes for immediate display.
  • Inspect bikes for cosmetic flaws or damage before and after washing, immediately notifying the Sales or Service Manager of any issues.
  • Maintain the washbay environment, tracking cleaning chemical inventory, handling pressure washers safely, and keeping the bay spotless.

Lot Operations & Portering

  • Safely move and push heavy motorcycles (frequently weighing 700 to 1,000+ lbs) in and out of the showroom, service bays, and storage areas without causing damage.
  • Stage motorcycles neatly on the exterior lot and showroom floor to maximize visual appeal and maintain clear pathways for customers.
  • Assist customers by bringing their completed motorcycles to the service drive, offering a clean, premium hand-off experience.
  • Support the parts and service teams by occasionally moving parts or assisting with general dealership maintenance (e.g., trash removal, floor scrubbing, weather prep).

Skills & Qualifications

  • Motorcycle Endorsement: A valid driver’s license with a motorcycle endorsement and a clean driving record is required.
  • Physical Strength & Stamina: Must be comfortable routinely balancing, pushing, and maneuvering heavy heavyweight motorcycles.
  • Attention to Detail: Understanding how to clean exposed engine components, wheels, and delicate electronics safely.
  • Team Player: Strong communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with Service Writers, Sales Associates, and Managers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for the Brand: A positive attitude and familiarity with the Harley-Davidson culture or motorcycle industry is a massive plus.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Exposed to water, cleaning chemicals, and varying outdoor weather conditions.
  • Strength: Ability to stand, bend, and work in wet environments for extended periods while maneuvering motorcycles.
  • Weight: Safely move and push heavy motorcycles weighing 700 to 1,000+ lbs.
  • Schedule: Expect weekend shifts (Saturdays are typically the busiest days at a dealership) and later hours to clean up after dealership events.
