    Description

    Are you an experienced warehouse or logistics leader who enjoys being hands-on, leading by example, and working as part of a close-knit team? Laminex New Zealand is seeking a motivated Warehouse/ Logistics Supervisor to play a key role in our distribution operation, ensuring products are delivered safely, accurately, and on time while leading a small, high-performing team.

    About the Role

    Reporting to the Production Manager, you will lead a team of two and oversee warehouse dispatch, receivables, and freight coordination. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of large-volume board products, working closely with production teams and freight partners to ensure seamless product flow across the operation. Thriving in a fast-paced environment, you'll manage changing priorities, resolve operational challenges, and maintain the safe, efficient flow of goods from production through to customer delivery, ensuring business and customer requirements are consistently met.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee the day-to-day management of incoming and outgoing freight, dispatch activities, and inventory movements across the warehouse.
    • Allocate products to designated storage and freight lanes for collection and drop off.
    • Coordinate freight movements with providers and national carriers.
    • Ensure trucks and trailers are loaded safely and efficiently, including weight distribution requirements.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and inventory records through warehouse and freight management systems.
    • Ensure products are accurately loaded, scanned, manifested, and dispatched.
    • Manage inbound deliveries from suppliers, rail freight, and transport providers.
    • Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example on the warehouse floor.
    • Support operational planning and coverage across extended operating hours.

    Monday to Friday, 5:00am to 5:00pm. You'll work a 9-hour day, with hours coordinated across the team.

    About You

    We're looking for someone who combines strong operational knowledge with practical leadership skills and a collaborative approach.

    Ideally You Will Have:

    • Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics or distribution.
    • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience advantageous.
    • Strong hands-on warehouse experience in both inbound and outbound operations.
    • Proven forklift operating experience with a current Forklift Licence and F Endorsement
    • Experience working with freight providers and transport networks.
    • Exposure to warehouse or ERP systems such as SAP, BPICS or equivalent
    • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data and reporting systems
    • Excellent planning, coordination and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to build effective relationships with freight drivers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
    • A practical, adaptable approach with a willingness to get involved wherever needed.
    • A collaborative, team-focused approach, with the flexibility to support operational demands and work additional hours when required.
