Metal Supermarkets is seeking a dependable and hardworking Warehouse Worker / Material Handler to join our team. This position is responsible for receiving, processing, storing, cutting, and preparing metal products for customer orders. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate warehouse equipment in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and unload incoming shipments of metal products and materials.
- Pull, package, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Operate band saws, cold saws, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Measure, cut, and process metal materials to customer specifications.
- Load and unload trucks while ensuring product quality and safety.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Assist customers with order pickups when needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Perform other warehouse-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, fabrication, or metal industry experience preferred but not required.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
- Ability to read tape measures and use basic measuring tools accurately.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to safely handle metal materials of various sizes and weights.
