Warehouse Worker (CT)

The Warehouse Worker is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from the stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. This role ensures inventory accuracy, proper organization, and safe handling of materials while supporting daily warehouse operations.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Worker is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from the stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. This role ensures inventory accuracy, proper organization, and safe handling of materials while supporting daily warehouse operations. This job requires a clean background. 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, count, and verify incoming stock items; record data manually or using computerized systems
• Pack, unpack, and stock items on shelves, racks, or designated storage areas
• Verify inventory records by comparing physical counts to system data; investigate and correct discrepancies
• Store materials in an orderly, accessible, and safe manner
• Label and mark stock items using tags, stamps, or electronic marking tools
• Inspect stock items for damage, defects, or wear and report issues to supervisors
• Maintain cleanliness of storage areas, tools, and equipment in compliance with safety regulations
• Track usage, movement, and damage of inventory or warehouse equipment
• Assist with or provide direction to other warehouse or stockroom employees as needed

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Working knowledge of warehouse equipment, inventory systems, and safety procedures
• Understanding of policies and procedures that support security and protection of people, data, and property

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• 5 years of warehouse or material handling experience required
• Previous job titles may include: Material Handler

Shift Options & Pay Rates

• Day Shift: Monday - Friday (8 am - 4:30 pm)
• Afternoon Shift Monday - Friday (4:30 pm - 2:30 am)
• Night Shift: Monday - Thursday (9 pm - 7 am)
• Pay Rate: $18.75 - $20.75 per hour depending on shift

Work Environment

• Warehouse, stockroom, or storage yard setting
• Requires standing, walking, lifting, and handling materials for extended periods
