Location:  Chattanooga, TN 37405
Pay Rate: $16.19/ hr 
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8.0 hours/day; Contract Duration: 08/17/2026 – 08/17/2027; Submission Deadline: 08/07/2026)

Overview of the Job

The Warehouse Worker plays a key role in supporting facility operations at Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute by managing inventory, processing incoming shipments, fulfilling unit orders, and ensuring accurate deliveries. This role is responsible for unloading freight, inspecting goods against purchase orders, operating basic material handling equipment, maintaining precise inventory logs, and keeping the warehouse organized, clean, and compliant with safety regulations.

Job Specifications

Primary Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders for accuracy and damage.

• Pick, pack, stock, and deliver supplies and items to satisfy internal unit orders on time.

• Maintain strict inventory control by stocking designated warehouse locations and participating in routine inventory counts and audits.

• Safely operate warehouse equipment, including manual/electric pallet jacks and delivery carts.

• Maintain accurate records of receiving, shipping, and inventory transactions using basic computer applications.

• Adhere to all facility safety protocols, maintaining a clean, secure, and organized warehouse space.

• Execute basic administrative and data entry tasks related to warehouse logging.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work across varying warehouse temperatures.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email, with the ability to quickly learn new inventory software.

• Equipment operation skills (pallet jacks, hand trucks, delivery carts).

• Strong organizational, time management, numeric, and detail-oriented capabilities.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

• 1–2 years of proven experience as a warehouse worker preferred.

Background Verification & Health Screening Requirements

Identogo Fingerprinting (Instructions available in dashboard files/documents).

• State ID and Social Security Card verification.

• Primary Source Licensure check (if applicable).

• Agency-conducted checks: Office of Inspector General (OIG) Exclusions Registry and Tennessee Abuse Registry.

Tuberculosis (TB) Testing: Proof of a negative TB skin test required before hire, or must undergo testing during orientation at MBMHI.

Seasonal Flu Vaccination: Proof of flu vaccination required for hires working between November 1 and March 31 (vaccine may be provided during orientation). Exemption requests must be submitted to the CEO prior to hire and are subject to approval.
