Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Shop Manager to oversee daily operations within a climate-controlled manufacturing environment. This leadership role is responsible for managing production activities, supervising a team of approximately 10 12 employees, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a safe and productive workplace.

The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing leadership experience, machine shop knowledge, and the ability to motivate employees while driving performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 4 years of supervisory or management experience required
Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
Experience in manufacturing, production, fabrication, or machine shop environments
Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a positive work culture
Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage production schedules, priorities, and workflow efficiently
Valid Driver's License with clean MVR required
Professional references required
Must pass background check
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise, coach, and support a team of 10 12 production employees
Ensure production goals, deadlines, and quality expectations are consistently met
Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or priorities as needed
Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Promote a safe, productive, and team-oriented work environment
Assist with employee training, mentoring, and performance development
Coordinate travel and operational support activities as required
Maintain communication between production, management, and support departments
Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and positive leadership
Technical Qualifications
Proficiency in machine shop operations including drilling, milling, tapping, blueprint interpretation, CNC mills, and CNC lathes
Experience with metal finishing, painting, blasting, grinding, sanding, and powder coating processes
Knowledge of MIG and TIG welding processes and a wide range of metals
Welding certifications are a plus
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and production workflow
Preferred Qualifications
Manufacturing leadership experience in fabrication or machining environments
Experience managing production teams and shop operations
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
Strong understanding of quality control and production planning
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk throughout the production facility
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Ability to work around machinery, fabrication equipment, and production processes
Ability to work overtime and travel as required
