Role:
Responsible for achieving the company's overall warehouse performance results and goals by communicating job and performance expectations, monitoring shipping, receiving, inventory, warehouse labor, and providing daily leadership to the warehouse team. The Warehouse Supervisor supports receiving, stocking, trucking, and inventory coordination while coaching employees. They also support employee evaluations and discipline as needed, championing continuous improvement, supporting safety programs, and enforcing company policies and procedures.
Hours: This is an in-office, full-time position. Monday through Friday.
Salary Range: 75,00095,000 per year (exempt, salaried), depending on experience.
Position Responsibilities:
Communicate job expectations, performance expectations, daily priorities, and warehouse goals to team members.
Monitor shipping, receiving, inventory, warehouse workflow, and daily warehouse performance.
Help manage warehouse labor and expense costs to support company budget expectations.
Oversee continuous improvement initiatives as they pertain to the warehouse.
Oversee and champion the company's safety program as it pertains to the warehouse.
Ensure warehouse employees follow company policies, procedures, safety standards, and work rules.
Oversee warehouse equipment maintenance programs to ensure equipment is maintained regularly and kept in optimal running condition.
Provide day-to-day oversight of CDL-A drivers and delivery activities.
Help coordinate driver schedules, routes, and daily assignments.
Supports safe and compliant driving practices in line with company and regulatory expectations
Assist with warehouse supply purchasing to ensure employees have the proper tools and equipment needed to perform their jobs.
Collaborate with branch supervisors, including Shop/Production and Transportation, to establish and maintain uniform KPI metrics for branch performance.
Provide daily employee coaching, support, and direction to help maintain positive employee morale and strong performance.
Support annual employee reviews and employee discipline as needed.
Provide support and input to the Director of Operations on larger company initiatives and projects, including equipment purchases, warehouse layout, employee headcount, and related operational needs.
Support accurate inventory practices, warehouse organization, safe material handling, and efficient product flow.
Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, accuracy, productivity, and warehouse performance.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Experience, Required and Preferred
Three (3) plus years of leadership/supervision experience, including personal responsibility for hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
Three (3) plus years of warehouse, logistics, shipping, receiving, inventory, or related operations experience.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
Familiarity with the millwork industry or the building industry is preferred.
Significant experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel software is a must.
Experience operating a forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other equipment.
Must be able to communicate concisely and clearly in both written and verbal exchanges.
Strong organizational, written, communication, and math skills.
Ability to read and understand basic English required for safety instructions, work orders, labels, SOPs, documents, and production communication.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, 8- 9 hours a day. Must be able to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. repeatedly and occasionally up to 70 lbs. Participate in team lifts of objects weighing 70 lbs. - 150 lbs. Able to maneuver items up to 150 lbs.
Must be able to occasionally use a ladder for pulling/stocking materials as necessary.
Frequently walking and moving in a warehouse or production area setting.
Occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machines, etc.
Ability to operate a computer and other office machines.
The ability to communicate information and ideas clearly through written and verbal forms so others will understand.
Ability to operate a forklift
