We are seeking a hands-on Warehouse / Shipping Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse and shipping operations within a refrigerated and frozen food distribution environment. This role is responsible for supervising warehouse activities including order picking, staging, loading, shipping, inventory control, dock coordination, and product movement while ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and order accuracy.

This is a fully onsite position supporting a multi-shift, 24-hour warehouse and distribution operation. Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and extended hours as operational needs require is essential.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reinforce proper handling, storage, temperature control, and rotation procedures for refrigerated and frozen food products.
  • Ensure customer orders are picked, verified, staged, loaded, and shipped accurately and within required timelines.
  • Support inventory accuracy through proper product rotation, cycle counts, lot tracking, location management, and discrepancy reporting.
  • Maintain and review shipping and warehouse documentation including bills of lading, manifests, pick tickets, packing lists, and receiving records.
  • Supervise daily warehouse and shipping activities including order picking, staging, loading, shipping, receiving support, dock organization, and product movement.
  • Lead, coach, train, and schedule warehouse personnel including selectors, forklift operators, loaders, and other shift employees.
  • Coordinate with drivers, dispatch, customer service, purchasing, quality assurance, production, sales, and other departments to support operational flow and resolve issues.
  • Enforce warehouse safety procedures, equipment usage standards, housekeeping expectations, and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor warehouse equipment and facility conditions including forklifts, pallet jacks, dock equipment, and warehouse machinery, escalating maintenance concerns as needed.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the warehouse floor to support operational execution and employee performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce errors, streamline fulfillment processes, and strengthen operational accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required; Additional education or training related to logistics, warehousing, supply chain, food distribution, or management is preferred
  • Experience supervising hourly warehouse employees in fast-paced operational environments
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations including order picking, staging, loading, receiving, shipping documentation, dock operations, and inventory control
  • Previous supervisory, lead, or management experience within warehouse, shipping, distribution, cold-storage, food, meat, poultry, or perishable goods environments
  • Forklift operation experience required; Forklift certification or ability to complete certification/training successfully is preferred
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen warehouse environments
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage time-sensitive shipping schedules
  • Experience with warehouse systems, inventory tracking, data entry, and Microsoft Office or similar business software
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple departments and operational teams
  • Understanding of warehouse safety practices, housekeeping standards, and equipment operation procedures
