Day-in-the-Life: Warehouse Receiving & Forklift Specialist

What Your Day Looks Like
You roll in, gear up with PPE, and jump onto a well-maintained forklift. First stop: the inbound dock. Bills of lading are in hand, and you carefully match counts, part numbers, and materials to what’s on the truck. Anything off? You note it and flag it. From there, you unload trailers, stage freight in the right lanes, and shuttle raw materials to production or storage locations. Throughout the shift you’ll scan items into the system, keep inventory records tight, assist with picks or packs when needed, and leave your area spotless. Safety and accuracy drive every move.
What You’ll Do
- Operate a forklift safely to move, stage, and store materials
- Receive inbound shipments and verify quantities and item details
- Load and unload trucks and trailers efficiently
- Check deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report findings
- Organize and stage products throughout the warehouse
- Transport raw materials and finished goods to designated areas
- Maintain accurate receiving and inventory documentation
- Use RF scanners and/or computer systems to complete transactions
- Pitch in with picking, packing, and other warehouse tasks as needed
- Keep work areas clean, orderly, and compliant with safety standards
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements at all times
What You Bring
- Proven forklift experience
- Background in warehouse, receiving, or material handling (preferred)
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials safely
- Comfort with basic computer use and RF scanners
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail during receiving
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Team-focused mindset with the ability to work independently
- Commitment to established safety practices and procedures
Physical Demands & Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Regular lifting and material movement throughout the day
- Work around forklifts, warehouse equipment, and variable temperatures
- Ability to wear and maintain required PPE
