Job Title: Warehouse Picker
Pay: $19/hour
Shift: 2nd 2pm-12am
Location: Elkhart, IN
Position Summary: Locates and moves materials and parts between work areas of plant to expedite processing of goods, according to predetermined schedules and priorities. Pick orders for shipping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a positive working environment.
- Attach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying information.
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.
- Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
- Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles and containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, and other equipment.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures and PPE.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Functions:
- Janitorial duties
- Outside cleaning
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
Education and / or Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to count
Qualifications / Skills:
- Forklift experience
- Verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Reading and writing, speaking or able to understand English
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee must frequently push pull and lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Able to stand for an 8 hour (at times more) shift
- Able to handle frequent twisting and bending
- Good hand dexterity
- Must be able be to handle high elevations.
