Job Title

Warehouse Operator

Job Description

The primary purpose of the role is to execute warehouse related activities (Receiving, Shipping, Dispensing, etc.) in accordance with the applicable Standard Operating Procedures and strict adherence to Good Documentation Practices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process receipts according to the applicable Standard Operating Procedures. 

  • Maintain data integrity within all shipping and receiving tracking programs. 

  • Communicate issues observed with incoming shipments. 

  • Collaborate with SCM team members as well as other functional area representatives to assure mitigation is identified related to receiving issues. 

  • Deliver items to other functional areas in a timely manner. 

  • Strict adherence to Inventory Control processes and Good Documentation Practices. 

  • Process material requests according to the applicable Standard Operating Procedures. 

  • Maintain strict inventory control through accurate and timely SAP transaction completion. 

  • Allocate and dispense materials upon request according to the applicable Standard Operating Procedures. 

  • Support manufacturing, packaging, and laboratory operations by providing transportation of items to and from staging locations. 

  • Deliver dispensed items to and from staging locations. 

  • Strict adherence to Inventory Control processes and Good Documentation Practices. 

  • Scheduling and coordinating both domestic and international transactions with freight carriers and forwarders. 

  • Plans and optimizes efficient movement of goods in compliance with company policies and procedures  

  • Maintain certifications in DOT-Hazardous Materials in Transportation, ICAO and IATA/Dangerous Good Certification 

  • Collate, prepare, distribute and process various bills of lading and shipping documents 

  • Handle periodic high pressure and tight deadlines as well as be able to adjust work schedule according to shipping needs 

  • Ensure compliance with safety codes, policies, and procedures of the Company and standards established by OSHA  

  • Manage and stock overview of central storage locations. 

  • Other duties as deemed necessary

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years’ experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment

  • Familiarity with inventory management and logistics software systems

  • Proficiency in operating powered industrial vehicles.

  • Must maintain a valid, state issued driver’s license

Job Conditions

  • Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Must use hands to handle, feel, reach, type or operate objects or controls. Ability to operate a powered industrial lift truck

  • This job primarily operates in a high demand, warehouse settings, primarily temperature controlled.

  • Personal protective equipment including safety glasses, lab coats, gloves, specialized clothing including laboratory uniform and appropriate shoes may be  in areas associated with this position.
