Our client, a manufacturer of plastic pipes and fittings, is looking for a Warehouse Operator - Picker Shift Head to join their growing team in Early Branch, SC.
The Warehouse Operator – Picker Shift Head is a key operational role responsible for overseeing warehouse picking activities and managing personnel during assigned shifts, ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely order fulfillment.
The Picker Shift Head will coordinate shift personnel, assign picking tasks, monitor productivity and order accuracy, ensure proper handling and movement of products, and maintain compliance with warehouse safety and operating procedures.
The role is also responsible for identifying and resolving picking, inventory, equipment, or workflow issues before they impact operations, while maintaining effective communication and coordination with the Warehouse Supervisor, Production/Operations Management, Inventory Control, and Shipping teams.
Position Details:
+ Hours: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM.
+ Available to be moved to other shifts if necessary: 6:00 AM – 2:30PM / 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
+ Training schedule: 1 ST week: 8:00AM – 4:00PM.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Supervise and coordinate daily picking activities to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
+ Lead, coach, and motivate a team of warehouse associates
+ Monitor employee performance, productivity, and attendance
+ Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and OSHA standards.
+ Maintain inventory accuracy by following established picking procedures and reporting discrepancies.
+ Collaborate with Receiving, Shipping, Inventory Control, and Operations teams to optimize work-flow.
+ Train new employees on warehouse procedures, equipment, and safety practices.
+ Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
+ Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate operational priorities.
+ Assist in workforce planning and scheduling based on business demands.
+ Ensure proper use of warehouse equipment and report maintenance needs.
+ Support investigations related to inventory variances and customer complaints.
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
+ Previous experience—preferably in a continuous warehouse environment (3-5 years)
+ Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning equipment
+ Experience in safety and health regulations in manufacturing environments
+ Working knowledge of inventory control, order picking, and shipping processes
+ Proven ability to follow standards, rules, policies, work instructions directions
+ Quality focus
+ Forklift license/experience
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with frequently changing dynamics.
+ Great organizational skills
+ Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and different shifts as business needs require
