Distribution Experience Required
Are you a warehouse or distribution leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment where customer needs drive the operation?
Our client, a well-established and growing industrial distributor, is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Operations Manager to lead daily warehouse operations, develop the leadership team, and ensure customers receive the responsive, reliable service they expect.
This is not a role for someone who is used to simply running production schedules. Distribution moves quickly. Priorities change. Customers sometimes need product expedited and the operation has to respond.
What You'll Do
- Lead daily warehouse and operational activities in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Set priorities for shipping, receiving, inventory, and customer orders.
- Develop and mentor supervisors and warehouse team members.
- Partner closely with Sales, Purchasing, Transportation, Quality, and Maintenance.
- Drive improvements in productivity, inventory accuracy, safety, and customer service.
- Monitor KPIs and use data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, labor utilization, and overtime.
- Build a culture of accountability, responsiveness, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of progressive warehouse, operations, or distribution leadership experience.
- A strong background in distribution is required.
- Experience leading supervisors and larger hourly teams.
- Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, scheduling, and warehouse operations.
- Experience in industrial distribution, steel, metals, building products, MRO, or similar environments is highly preferred.
- ERP/WMS experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but strong equivalent experience will be considered.
