Job Summary
The Warehouse Material Specialist supports warehouse floor and shipping activities by receiving, storing, picking, and shipping strategic spare parts and operating consumables. The role maintains accurate inventory and ensures safe and efficient material handling.
Job Description
- Safety:
- Promote a safe work environment and instill a strong safety culture
- Work to achieve zero accidents, lost-time incidents, or recordable incidents by taking a leadership role in safety
- Physically Receive Incoming Material Shipments:
- Unload shipments
- Inspect shipments for apparent damage and make notes on the bill of lading accordingly
- Inspect shipments for content accuracy and make notes on the packing list accordingly
- Place rejected shipments in designated quarantine areas
- Ensure incoming materials are properly and accurately labeled
- Generate oversized item placards to include 3rd-party storage locations
- Review calibration certificates, as applicable, for compliance and attach certificates to specific incoming materials
- Stock accepted shipments in the warehouse
- Electronically Receive Incoming Material Shipments:
- Process material returns
- Ensure repair reports and pictures are attached to the outside of the pallets
- Photograph incoming materials and attach them in Maximo when feasible
- Fill Work Orders (Maximo/Oracle/SAP Inventory Reservation Requests):
- Process work orders from ERP systems
- Review and understand work orders
- Coordinate 3rd-party storage shipment or receiving
- Pick materials specified on work orders from the warehouse and stage them in the shipping area
- Mark work orders accordingly for picked or backordered materials
- Package materials for shipment
- Request competitive quotes for shipments and schedule the awarded carrier
- Generate shipping documents (labels, packing slips, commercial invoices, and BOLs as needed)
- Load outgoing material shipments
- Other Warehouse Activities:
- Maintain overall physical organization and cleanliness of the warehouse
- Manage the material quarantine area and process
- Process daily cycle counts and annual physical inventory of warehouses
- Create and label new BIN locations as needed
- Assist with 3rd-party storage physical inventory counts as needed
- Emails must all be acknowledged within 24 hours of receipt
- Execute special projects on an as-needed basis
- Savings:
- Identify and implement savings opportunities related to inventory purchases and shipments

Skills Required
- 2 years of experience in managing inventory/assets
- Must have SAP/Oracle experience
- Forklift experience and ability to operate safely
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

Education/Training/Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and criminal background check
- Forklift certified
- Must be available for call-outs after hours and weekends to go full-time
- Work Conditions:
- Office, onsite, and warehouse environment
- Accessible 24/7 as needed
- Shift hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Pay Rate/Salary
- $23.00/hour. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location
