Updike Distribution Logistics is currently seeking a Warehouse Manager who will be responsible for managing day-to-day warehouse operation, including customer service, labor scheduling, supervision, and proper utilization of space, equipment, and manpower. The Warehouse Manager is accountable for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of the warehouse in the areas of staffing, warehouse operations/execution, maintenance of the facility and equipment, implementation of safety, security, housekeeping, budgeting, and inventory control. Continually focuses on the improvement of processes to make certain customer needs are being met for high quality, cost effective logistics services.
- E-Commerce Fulfillment experience required.
- Ensure the operation exceeds customer expectations for service and responsiveness
- Manage, motivate and develop direct reports according to company policies and employment laws
- Manage costs, overheads and all factors affecting the profitability performance of the warehouse
- Maintain customer inventories to always ensure 100% accuracy
- Manage and maintain adherence to customer standard operating procedures and organizational guidelines to allow the accurate, timely, and safe handling of goods
- Manage the periodic maintenance of all equipment, fixtures, and fabric on warehouse premises
- Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the warehouse
- Direct personnel to act in accordance with corporate mission and corporate goals
- Develop space utilization plans to meet cost and service standards
- Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policymaking as required
- Liaise with and utilize support from suppliers, merchandisers and other partners as required
- Liaise with external agencies and authorities as necessary (fire services, police, health, and safety inspectors, etc.)
- Communicate space availability to the director of operations and/or senior management
- Develop and maintain a productive work team through training and professional development
- Thorough understanding of a P&L statement
- Onboard and offboard employees, continually lead, engage, train, coach, and/or counsel a staff of approximately 20-30 team members
