Warehouse Manager


We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager to join our 16-person import and distribution business. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and organization of our 2,000-SKU warehouse, including receiving, inventory storage, order preparation and shipping. This is a hands-on position that also requires the ability to supervise and direct warehouse staff.


Responsibilities
  • Manage and organize a 2,000-SKU warehouse, including receiving, inventory storage, stock locations and order fulfillment
  • Coordinate and participate in the unloading of approximately 60–70 containers per year
  • Prepare and load approximately 30–50 pallets per week for shipment throughout the country, either personally or by directing warehouse staff
  • Supervise and direct one warehouse employee, including assigning daily tasks and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate and organized inventory and stock locations
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of warehouse equipment
  • Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized warehouse
  • Identify and resolve day-to-day warehouse issues and ensure that work is completed on schedule
  • Work closely with management and other departments to coordinate receiving and shipping activities

Qualifications
  • Previous warehouse, logistics or distribution experience strongly preferred
  • Supervisory or team-lead experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership, with the ability to work independently
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of the company, from owners and general manager to warehouse staff
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory or warehouse management systems
  • Able to work comfortably in a role that is both hands-on and supervisory
  • Willingness and ability to follow and enforce company procedures and safety policies
  • Ability to lift and move boxes and pallets and remain active on one's feet throughout the workday
  • Forklift/pallet jack experience is a plus
