B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a very closely related discipline.
Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and disciplined, and possess good time management skills.
Demonstrated hands-on mechanical & electronics skills and ability.
High level of computer competency (including proficiency in 3D-CAD/Word/Outlook/Visio/Excel/SQL/Access/).
Familiar with Stepper Motors / Servo Systems, Linear Slides, and Controls Systems.
Long-term problem solver & implementer.
Willing to put in the hours (50-hour weekly average).
Management
Responsible for managing the assembly and warehouse departments and the people who work in those departments including but not limited to finding, recruiting, training, improving, monitoring, disciplining, and terminating workers. Continually developing the department with continuous improvements via systems, reports, software, hardware, automation, procedures, audits, etc. to make the department more robust (error resistant), more efficient (more done with less labor required), organized, and more accountable.
Maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and components for the warehouse and assembly (production and non-production).
Maintain and improve inventory system per established procedures and perform warehouse physical inventory annually.
Operate and maintain computers, scales, and other assembly or industrial equipment within the warehouse and assembly.
Ensure IHI personnel are processing customer orders shipping them according to customer requirements, management, and system specifications.
Instructions - Keep detailed streamlined written up-to-date instructions/procedures for each task of the job.
Audits – Regularly audit the department’s people, files, systems, software, and procedures.
Maintain assembly and warehouse worker efficiency and work on continual improvement
Cooperate with the QC department in a joint effort to keep the product moving at an acceptable quality level.
Oversee IHI’s maintenance technician who does all building and assembly maintenance.
Must train a person or persons to fulfill your duty in your absence.
Engineering
Develop, design, construct, test, troubleshoot, and implement a sustainable and cost-effective fully-automated multi-spindle screw assembly machine capable of at least 5,000 screws per hour.
Must be capable of turning a given set of objectives into a clear set of goals and developing a project path to achieve the desired results. They will be given a high degree of independence in pursuing those objectives but must collaborate with the president to ensure that the outcome is a practical one.
Must be adept at designing in a digital environment and thoroughly documenting their work in a manner that will allow others to maintain or improve upon the progress he or she has made. Where systems are not yet in place, they will need the ability to create thought-out organizational systems and train others in using those systems.
Will be responsible for creating process improvements and maintaining those processes.
Must be willing and capable of troubleshooting the source of the issue and doing hands-on work to find the root cause.
Must verify the results of projects in accordance with engineering principles and good scientific practices.
Any other tasks assigned by the president.
