Warehouse & Inventory Specialist
Location: Houston, TX
Pay Rate: $23/hour
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule
- Monday - Thursday: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Friday: 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Must be available for after-hours and weekend callouts as needed. Availability is required for full-time conversion.
Position Summary
The Warehouse Materials Specialist is responsible for supporting warehouse operations through inventory control, shipping, receiving, and material handling activities. This position works with SAP, Oracle, and Maximo systems to ensure accurate inventory management and timely fulfillment of operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming materials.
- Process inventory transactions using SAP and Oracle.
- Pick, stage, package, and ship materials based on work orders.
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Generate shipping documentation including packing slips and bills of lading.
- Manage quarantine inventory and warehouse organization.
- Coordinate shipments with carriers and third-party storage facilities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support special projects and identify process improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of inventory, warehouse, or asset management experience.
- Experience with SAP and Oracle.
- Forklift Certification required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in both warehouse and office environments.
- Must be available for after-hours and weekend callouts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Maximo.
- Industrial, manufacturing, or maintenance warehouse experience.
- Shipping, receiving, and inventory control experience.
