This role leads daily warehouse inventory material-handling and fleet-management operations to ensure field teams service technicians and project teams have the materials tools equipment and vehicles needed to perform their work safely and efficiently. Success in this role requires strong leadership organization inventory-control knowledge safety awareness problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse OperationsLead and coordinate daily warehouse activities including receiving stocking picking staging issuing shipping and returns.Maintain an organized warehouse layout that supports safe material handling efficient workflow and accurate inventory control.Ensure materials tools equipment and supplies are properly labeled stored secured and readily accessible.Coordinate material staging and delivery schedules to support field technicians project teams and service operations.Oversee loading and unloading of deliveries and verify shipments for accuracy damage and completeness.Maintain a clean orderly and professional warehouse yard and storage areas.Inventory ManagementMaintain accurate inventory records within the companys inventory management ERP or purchasing system.Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories and investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment of commonly used materials and supplies.Track material usage shortages obsolete inventory damaged goods and excess stock.Implement controls to reduce material loss shrinkage waste and unnecessary purchases.Coordinate with purchasing project managers and operations leaders regarding inventory needs lead times and material availability.Manage vendor returns credits warranty returns and material transfers between locations.Leadership and Staff DevelopmentSupervise train schedule and evaluate warehouse personnel.Establish clear work priorities performance expectations and accountability for warehouse team members.Provide coaching and hands-on training related to safe material handling inventory procedures equipment operation and customer service.Promote a collaborative work environment and maintain effective communication with internal teams vendors and leadership.Participate in hiring onboarding and performance-management processes as needed.Safety and CompliancePromote and enforce compliance with company safety policies OSHA requirements and applicable local state and federal regulations.Ensure warehouse personnel use appropriate personal protective equipment and safe lifting and material-handling practices.Conduct regular safety inspections and promptly address hazards housekeeping concerns and equipment issues.Maintain required records for inspections incidents equipment maintenance and inventory controls.Ensure forklifts pallet jacks shelving ladders and other warehouse equipment are inspected and maintained appropriately.Vehicle Fleet ManagementOversee the daily management and maintenance of service vehicles delivery vehicles trailers and other assigned fleet equipment.Maintain accurate vehicle records including registrations inspections insurance documentation maintenance history mileage and assignment information.Coordinate preventive maintenance repairs inspections licensing and registration renewals to keep vehicles safe compliant and operational.Schedule vehicle maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and disruption to field and warehouse operations.Conduct routine inspections of fleet vehicles and trailers and address safety concerns damage cleanliness and required repairs.Monitor vehicle condition utilization fuel usage and maintenance costs and recommend replacement repair or disposal as appropriate.Coordinate with drivers field employees operations leaders and outside vendors regarding vehicle assignments repairs maintenance needs and service schedules.Ensure vehicles are stocked organized and equipped with required tools materials safety equipment and documentation.Manage vehicle keys fuel cards toll devices and related fleet assets.Support accident damage and incident-reporting processes and coordinate follow-up repairs and documentation.Promote compliance with company vehicle policies driver-safety expectations and applicable Department of Transportation and local regulatory requirements.Process Improvement and ReportingDevelop and improve warehouse procedures to increase accuracy efficiency safety and service levels.Track warehouse performance measures including inventory accuracy order fulfillment cycle count completion material availability and productivity.Prepare routine reports related to inventory variances damaged materials slow-moving inventory and operational needs.Recommend improvements to storage systems inventory processes staffing equipment and warehouse layout.Support annual budgeting and capital-equipment planning related to warehouse operations.QualificationsThree to five years of warehouse inventory control logistics distribution or material-management experience.At least one to two years of supervisory or team-lead experience.Experience using inventory management ERP purchasing or warehouse management systems.Strong working knowledge of inventory-control practices including receiving cycle counting reconciliation and material issuance.Ability to operate or become certified to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel Outlook and Word.Strong organizational communication problem-solving and leadership skills.Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced operational environment.Ability to maintain accurate inventory fleet equipment and operational records.Ability to work collaboratively with warehouse personnel field teams vendors project managers and operations leaders.Preferred QualificationsAssociates or bachelors degree in supply chain management business logistics or a related field.Experience supporting construction fire protection mechanical contracting service or field-based operations.Forklift certification.Experience with barcode scanning RF inventory systems or warehouse management software.Familiarity with OSHA warehouse and material-handling requirements.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentStand walk bend reach climb and perform repetitive motions regularly.Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts pallet jacks carts and hand trucks.Work in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures dust noise and moving equipment.Occasionally travel to branch locations job sites vendors or supply houses.Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow
