    Job Description:

    Purpose:  The Warehouse Lead assists the Warehouse Manager in the daily coordination of the warehouse activities and performs the responsibilities of the associate; receiving and moving materials within warehouse, picks and packages orders for final shipment to the customer and pulls and delivers parts for production according to requirements.

    Key Areas of Responsibilities:

    • Delegates tasks, monitors activities and acts as a liaison between laborers and Manager, generating and completing daily work orders. 
    • Routinely backs up Manager for order entry, inventory checks and other administrative tasks.
    • Assures products are packaged and delivered at acceptable quality level and at lead times consistent with customer needs.
    • Receives and moves material in warehouse; unload material from vendor trucks, move to inventory location and update system to reflect inventory levels.
    • Process pick orders from production requirements; locates material in system, pick up and move into inventory or new location and update system to reflect material movement.
    • Prepare material for shipment; pull items from inventory, assemble shipment in boxes and pallets as per customer specification and update system to reflect material shipment.
    • Uses ERP system to perform queries and other transactions.
    • Supplies and fills WIP bins and or lanes if applicable.
    • Trains new employees to standard operating procedures.
    • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the work areas.
    • Responsible for following all safety procedures and policies.

    Key Performance Indicators:

    • Proficiently demonstrates knowledge of operations to execute on the daily needs
    • Demonstrated ability to transition between tasks within work area to achieve on time delivery goals and ensure accuracy
    • Developing leadership skills needed to delegate tasks and ensure good team communications
    • Ability to interpret standard operating procedures to ensure safe handling of material
    • Maintains inventory transfer accuracy

    Key Decision Rights:

    Uses experience or existing precedents to resolve issues under minimal supervision.  Ability to plan and direct task assignments for team members.

    Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years prior experience in a shipping and receiving environment
    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
    • Experience utilizing an ERP system to perform queries and make transactions
    • Good attention to detail and transactional accuracy
    • Ability to use pallet jack, two-wheel dolly and tow motor
    • Ability to organize and maintain work area to good housekeeping standards
    • Good problem-solving skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Timely and clear communication
    • Reliable with positive attitude and flexible approach

    Physical Effort and Work Environment:

    • Work performed in a manufacturing environment
    • Frequent standing, walking, bending and reaching
    • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and maneuvering up to 100 pounds
    • Frequent exposure to production noise
    • Frequent exposure to tow motor traffic
    • Work is performed in a highly demanding environment due to quantity and quality expectations
    • Periodic exposure to heat or cold due to seasonal changes
