Job Description - Organic Products Packer (Fast-Paced Production)

Pay Rate: $18.42/hr

Location: Chatsworth, CA 91311 (On-site)

Schedule: Shift 1 | ~40 hrs/week | Contract (approx. 2 weeks)

Position Summary

We are seeking reliable Organic Products Packers to support a fast-paced production/packing line. This role focuses on packing, labeling, and inspecting organic products while following food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards. You'll work as part of a team to meet daily production goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Pack organic products quickly and accurately on a production line
• Assemble packaging (boxes, bags, trays, clamshells, etc.) as needed
• Apply and verify labels (product, lot/date codes, seals)
• Inspect finished goods for defects (damaged packaging, incorrect labels, missing items)
• Keep the work area clean and organized (5S / housekeeping standards)
• Follow all food safety and hygiene requirements (PPE, handwashing, contamination prevention)
• Communicate issues to the lead/supervisor (quality concerns, low materials, line slowdowns)
• Meet hourly/daily productivity and quality expectations

Requirements / Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay on task
• Strong attention to detail (quality checks, labeling accuracy)
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Team-player mindset; able to work with others on a line

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 30 lbs (Tier 3)
• Standing, walking, bending, and repetitive hand motions throughout the shift
• Ability to handle repetitive tasks at production speed

Work Environment

• Production/warehouse setting handling organic food products
• PPE may be required (hairnet, gloves, mask, apron, etc.) depending on area
