    Description

    The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University seeks an experienced and innovative professional to serve as the lead instructor teaching students to produce, edit and manage content for audiences on streaming video platforms.

    Utilizing the School's streaming video platform, Cronkite+, as a laboratory, this role combines editorial leadership, mentorship and teaching, ensuring students develop professional-level skills that are needed to thrive in a media environment rapidly evolving toward non-linear programming, on-demand video and free advertising supported TV (FAST). This role will help manage and facilitate collaborations with key partners, both internal and external to Cronkite for streaming video production, including, but not limited to the School's live production operations, capstone programs, courses and external events involving student instruction.

    Success in this role is measured by the professor's ability to build an instructional production model that advances student learning, strengthens and contributes to the growth of Cronkite+ as a learning and audience engagement platform. The role will be central to Cronkite's efforts to integrate classroom learning with real-world production, business strategy and industry-facing partnerships.

    As a member of the faculty, the professor will have teaching and service responsibilities with the Cronkite School. In this role, there are no research or creative activity responsibilities.

    This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, 12-month appointment with a faculty rank of assistant, associate or full clinical professor, based on qualifications and experience. It is a year-to-year appointment, not a tenure-track appointment.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Instructional leadership for Cronkite+ and related channels

    Live production instruction and support

    Teaching lower-, upper- and graduate-division courses connected to live event production, streaming media, media business

    Close collaboration across the Cronkite School and external partners

    Performing other duties as assigned
