Wallpaper Installer

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking skilled Wall Covering Installers to join our dynamic construction and renovation team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare walls and surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion of wallpaper materials.

• Measure and cut wallpaper accurately according to project specifications and schematic drawings.

• Install various types of wallpaper, including textured, vinyl, fabric-backed, and specialty wall coverings, using appropriate tools and techniques.

• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and scaffolding safely to facilitate efficient installation on different wall surfaces.

• Inspect work regularly for alignment, pattern matching, and smoothness; make adjustments as necessary for a flawless finish.

• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other trades such as carpentry or drywall specialists to coordinate installation schedules.

• Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly.

• Troubleshoot issues related to surface imperfections or material defects during installation.

• Follow safety protocols diligently when working at heights or with heavy equipment.

• Assist with surface repairs or restoration tasks as needed to ensure the longevity of finished installations.

Skills

• Proficiency in blueprint reading and schematic interpretation for accurate material measurement and placement.

• Experience with construction management principles and construction estimating processes.

• Knowledge of construction inspection standards to ensure quality control throughout projects.

• Familiarity with related trades such as carpentry, plastering, drywall finishing, and painting enhances versatility.

• Ability to operate hand tools (e.g., knives, trowels), power tools (e.g., drills, cutters), and heavy equipment safely.

• Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques including caulking, sealing, and patching.

• Competence in using industry software such as Bluebeam for project documentation.

• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.

• Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
