ABOUT THE ROLE

This Vice President-level Senior Credit Analyst opportunity sits within the Credit Portfolio Management function of a well-established global financial institution, covering a portfolio of insurance sector client credit relationships across Life, P&C, Reinsurance, and Insurance Brokers predominantly in the US with additional coverage of Canada and UK island territories including Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. The role combines rigorous credit analysis and counterparty risk assessment with ongoing portfolio monitoring, trading documentation management, and active participation in quarterly and annual risk committee governance. It's an ideal fit for a credit professional with 7 10 years of insurance sector credit experience from banking, insurance, or a rating agency background who combines deep knowledge of insurance accounting, regulatory frameworks, and credit metrics with strong analytical judgment and the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process credit requests in a timely manner to meet business deadlines;research and analyze financial data on insurance sector clients to prepare high-quality credit applications addressing counterparty credit risk and transaction risk
  • Conduct economic and insurance sector research covering North America to support credit analysis across Life, P&C, Reinsurance, and Insurance Broker clients
  • Exercise strong credit judgment when recommending credit facilities, taking into consideration facility size, tenor, and suitability for the client across committed and uncommitted lending facilities, structured transactions, OTC and listed derivatives, FX, and repo
  • Use the insurance rating model to propose counterparty ratings;manage key components of counterparty credit administration including internal ratings, trading documentation (ISDA/CSA, GMRA, GMSLA, FAA), and replacement risk limits
  • Establish credit terms for legal documents and follow up with the legal department on negotiations;monitor additional termination events and other credit provisions within trading documentation
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of client credit quality to identify possible deterioration;monitor exposure and manage credit limit exceptions;adapt to ongoing accounting and regulatory changes affecting credit limits and exposure
  • Contribute to and participate in quarterly portfolio reviews and the annual sectorial Risk Committee where guidelines and industry limits are discussed
  • Coordinate all aspects of credit requests by liaising with FIG relationship managers, business lines, legal staff, and the Risk Division
  • Attend industry events and training;follow rating agency actions and latest developments in specialized financial news;provide updates to senior management
