Title: VP Senior Credit Analyst, Credit Approval

Office Status: Hybrid New York, NY

Base Salary: $140k - $155k + Bonus

ABOUT THE ROLE

This Vice President-level opportunity sits within the Credit Approval Department of a well-established financial institution, serving as a senior independent credit analyst responsible for rigorous examination and assessment of credit proposals across assigned sectors and products. The role carries real committee presence preparing comprehensive credit assessments and presenting and defending cases directly before the Credit Approval Committee while also contributing to portfolio monitoring, policy development, and the mentorship of junior staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review and analyze credit proposals prepared by the Front Office on a timely basis;conduct joint due diligence vetting and analysis on potential transactions
  • Prepare comprehensive credit assessments including adjudication opinions, financial projections, and stress tests for review by the Lead Analyst and Senior Credit Officer prior to Credit Approval Committee submission
  • Present and defend credit cases before the Credit Approval Committee;ensure all applicable conditions precedent are satisfactorily met prior to closing and funding
  • Review GCMS entries including covenant compliance tracking;review legal documentation with a focus on credit terms including covenants, collateral, amortization, interest rates, and other special provisions
  • Manage post-disbursement responsibilities including preparation of interim and annual reviews jointly with the Relationship Manager;attend to all audit, loan review, and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as the center of expertise for assigned sectors and products;coach and develop junior credit staff on subject matter and analytical best practices
  • Support Credit MIS including portfolio analysis and periodic reporting;contribute to the development and maintenance of credit policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Act as a risk manager with full accountability for identifying, escalating, and managing risks;demonstrate consistent risk awareness through adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and controls
  • Adapt to other requirements as the portfolio grows and evolves
